Adults And Teens Kickboxing-Muay Thai

Kickboxing/Muay Thai is one of the best work outs in the world with roots over 2000 years old! Popular for its effectiveness and intense fitness training. Kickboxing is perfect for anyone looking to get in great shape, learn practical combat skills, and truly challenge yourself.

Our Approach

A fusion of Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Western Boxing, and a little TaeKwonDo (advanced students love the spinning kicks).

All new members at Tiger Kick Martial Art start with “Beginners” or “All Levels” classes. The focus will heavily revolve around introducing and perfecting basic techniques using shadow boxing, footwork drills, bag work, strength and conditioning, head movements, proper kicking techniques, live partner work and more.

During “All Levels” Classes, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced students are welcome! We have an amazing community of professional adults and young adults who are supportive, encouraging, and a lot of fun.

What You Need to Start!

Dress Code

  • Clothing: Shorts and a t-shirt.
  • Jewelry: Please do not wear any jewelry.
  • Hair: If you have long hair, make sure to tie it up.

Equipment

  • Boxing Gloves: Required.
  • Shin Pads: For intermediate students.
  • Kickboxing Shorts: For intermediate students.

Attitude

  • Positive Attitude: Essential for success in Martial Arts training. The right mindset is crucial.
  • Commitment: Training requires effort and discipline. We are here to support you, but you need to meet us halfway!

What will my child Learn?

All martial arts share the same core values. At Tiger Kicks, we emphasize the importance of students showing respect to their teachers, parents, and themselves by making good choices.Your child will also be learning physical skills that can be used to express themselves, stay healthy, and of course, it can be used to defend themselves. Your child’s confidence will increase over time as they will see their improvements and growth. Our instructors will always be inspiring your child to reach their potential.

Does martial arts help with my child’s focus and ADHD?

Many parents find their children show better focus and mental clarity by practicing martial arts. Tiger Kicks has helped many students with ADD and ADHD in many ways. In our martial arts classes, we place a strong emphasis on nurturing self-control in children. Learning entails staying attentive and concentrating on their martial arts instructor, even in the face of distractions. This requires heightened awareness and the ability to redirect their focus back to the instructor. Our instructors are patient but firm. We believe in bringing the best in our students regardless of the label that has been given to them.

There are many Taekwondo schools, why choose Tiger Kicks?

We believe that most schools are great, and we support all our Taekwondo community.One thing that makes Tiger Kicks special is that our curriculum covers it all. We cover the entire curriculum of the World Taekwondo Federation, but we also teach our students other boxing, Hapkido and basic grappling skills. We are also proud that our head coach, Master Ross has consistently placed athletes on our Canadian National Taekwondo Team for over a decade and our students have won international recognition over the years. We have also had students compete in other disciplines, such as, Muay Thai, Karate, and MMA. Competition is not the main focus of our program, but the point is that our curriculum will give you a solid martial arts foundation.

What is the difference between Taekwondo and other martial arts

Taekwondo, a Korean martial art, holds the distinction of being an official Olympic Sport. Notably, it stands as the most widely practiced martial art globally. It's essential to recognize that at the core of most martial arts lies a common foundation built upon the principles of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and an Indomitable Spirit. What advice do you have for parents to reinforce martial arts values at home?

Encourage your child to practice regularly, reinforce the importance of respect and discipline, and engage in open communication with our instructors.* remind them that yes training is fun but the purpose of training is to build one’s character and skills and this can be challenging.
